Honestly, this review has taken me a minute, I’m not a selfish person, but in this case I have been.
This place is the shit, Maxine who runs it is an amazingly cool hybrid human she is 1 part concierge 1 part entertainer/hostess. (Honestly still not doing her justice).

We recently attended a retreat in Costa Rica at a remarkable private property called Punta Gabriela, and it was an unforgettable experience—made truly exceptional by our host, Maxine Gomez. Her ability to strike the right balance between structure and freedom gave the retreat a natural, effortless flow.
The culinary experience was another highlight, thanks to the incredibly talented Chef Paige, whose meals were vibrant, nourishing, and customized with care. Maxine worked closely with Paige to ensure that every dietary need was met thoughtfully and deliciously. Each meal was a celebration—colorful, flavorful, and infused with local ingredients and creativity.
Maxine also encouraged us to connect with the local community, which added a beautiful dimension to our stay. When we visited the nearby town, we were met with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Exploring the lively ferias, we delighted in fresh produce, handmade crafts, and the joyful rhythm of Costa Rican life. Punta Gabriela is a dream! It’s absolutely beautiful and feels like luxury in the jungle! We had a small group and each villa/room was unique and equally beautiful. The pool and spa was amazing, the views were gorgeous and the staff was just superb. Maxine and her staff were everything we had hoped for! They were like ninjas…we rarely saw the crew but everything was always clean and beautiful. Maxine accommodated our group with every request and set up every activity perfectly. She made sure that our excursions were set up and we were dressed and prepared for whatever was needed. She welcomed us and made us feel like family. It was such an amazing place all on its own but the town of Domincal surprised us by being great as well! Several restaurants, spas, IV bar, adorable boutiques and more were in this charming town! Additionally, the chef we hired at PG was amazing! As a picky eater, I was nervous but I ate and LOVED literally every single meal! Chef Paige is another gem that made this place extraordinary! We are already booked to go back next year!
My second time at punta Gabriela and once again it didn’t disappoint, great location close to the beach, 5 min from dominical, friendly staff and next level hospitality.
A fantastic experience all around. The accommodations are fantastic, service is excellent, and the location is beautiful. Maxine and her staff made our stay so enjoyable, and helped us with anything and everything we needed. Can’t wait to return!
We just recently stayed an Punta Gabriela, and I can’t even put into words how lovely this place is. From the breathtaking views to the incredibly clean and stunning rooms, you are in for a treat. Quietly tucked into the beautiful green forest you are sure to have absolute privacy. My family and I stayed in villas 1 and 2. The perfect little set up. Liz and the team did a fantastic job making sure the rooms were clean! Villa 1 has a beautiful pool, perfect for romantic nights. The whole staff is so kind and accommodating. This place exceeded any expectation and we can’t wait to come back! Can’t recommend it enough.
Recently stayed at this BEAUTIFUL resort. Everything was perfect, the hospitality, the amenities, and of course being in the middle of the jungle with ocean views is just paradise. The whole experience was like something out of a movie and I can't come back soon enough!

Punta Gabriela is an incredible space in a beautiful location. The villas are gorgeous with amazing views and the staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I came as part of a group that rented the whole place for a retreat, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. This land and the people are special, providing a peaceful healing environment for all. I highly recommend!

BEST PLACE OF ON PLANET EARTH!!

What a beautiful surprise. I almost cancelled my Costa Rica trip and I’m so happy I didn’t. Punta Gabriela is a one of a kind paradise. The property is very well maintained and so many things to highlight. I really enjoyed making my meals in their commercial grade kitchen, waking up to gorgeous views (I stayed at their penthouse suite) and being in Dominical (very cute town, close to. some cute. bars. +good waves to surf!!). Jesse and Karen are also the best hosts!!! Really made the stay memorable and special. & everyone at PG are all very welcoming and made me feel like it’s home away from home! Everything was beyond expectation from the moment I stepped foot there. I can’t wait to return and this was really one to remember!
PS – literally was tearing up as I leaving cuz I just had such a wonderful time!!
