This place is the shit, Maxine who runs it is an amazingly cool hybrid human she is 1 part concierge 1 part entertainer/hostess. (Honestly still not doing her justice).
The property itself is breathtaking, the views are breathtaking. It’s just amazing.

We recently attended a retreat in Costa Rica at a remarkable private property called Punta Gabriela, and it was an unforgettable experience—made truly exceptional by our host, Maxine Gomez. From the moment we arrived, the hostess, Maxine’s warmth, thoughtfulness, and extraordinary attention to detail set the tone for an experience that was both restorative and inspiring.
Perched on a lush hillside with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, the estate was a tranquil sanctuary, beautifully integrated into the surrounding rainforest. Every element of the property reflected Maxine’s refined taste and deep care—from the elegant, eco-conscious design to the inviting open spaces that welcomed connection with nature.
Maxine ensured that each of us felt seen and supported. She anticipated needs before they were expressed, creating an atmosphere of comfort and ease that allowed us to fully relax and be present. Whether arranging a peaceful yoga session or coordinating a blissful spa treatment, her efforts were always personal and perfectly timed. Her ability to strike the right balance between structure and freedom gave the retreat a natural, effortless flow.
The culinary experience was another highlight, thanks to the incredibly talented Chef Paige, whose meals were vibrant, nourishing, and customized with care. Maxine worked closely with Paige to ensure that every dietary need was met thoughtfully and deliciously. Each meal was a celebration—colorful, flavorful, and infused with local ingredients and creativity.
Maxine also encouraged us to connect with the local community, which added a beautiful dimension to our stay. When we visited the nearby town, we were met with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Exploring the lively ferias, we delighted in fresh produce, handmade crafts, and the joyful rhythm of Costa Rican life. These moments of cultural connection made the experience feel deeply rooted and authentic.
Adventures like hiking to hidden waterfalls offered a peaceful thrill, but what stayed with us most was the way Maxine made us feel—not just accommodated but truly cared for. Staying at this beachfront jungle resort was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely reset—welcomed into an environment where luxury is beautifully simple, deeply personal, and incredibly refreshing.
I stayed in Villa 1, which featured a private pool and jacuzzi—perfect for soaking in the peaceful jungle surroundings. The sunset views were absolutely unbelievable, painting the sky with colors I’ll never forget.
The resort strikes the perfect balance between intimacy and warmth. It felt exclusive and serene, yet had a grounded, family-like vibe that made it easy to relax and feel at home. Being so close to waterfalls and immersed in nature only added to the enchantment.

Amazing
The owner and staff are awesome. The chief is from Greece. The food is amazing. The pool, the villa, and the facility is amazing. The views are gorgeous. Jessie has a ton of great adventures if you would like or you can just sit at the house and chill. Thank you Jessie and staff.
A vacation in paradise
This is by far been my most favorite place to vacation in Costa Rica, for that matter, almost anywhere I’ve been so far. Jesse and Karen Have an absolutely beautiful piece of paradise. The Villas are super spacious, clean and comfortable! The views are spectacular. We had Five couples in our group and Nobody had any complaints for the entire week we were there. Jesse, Karen, Karina and Nikos Quickly became like family to us. Jesse goes above and beyond for his guests helping arrange or provide transportation, excursions, onsite messages , food requests etc. He thinks of everything! Definitely will be back!
My favorite vacation ever!
I could go on forever about my perfect trip to Punta Gabriela. It was absolutely my favorite vacation ever, and we can not wait to go back and take our kids. I have never felt to safe, comfortable and at home on a trip before. Besides that this house is gorgeous, comfortable and spotless. The staff and owners felt like family by the end and we were sad to leave. Jesse Karen and their staff are wonderful. Jesse takes care of you every step of way, as if you were old friends. It’s wonderful and not something you get anywhere else. I loved every second of this experience. You can not go wrong if you stay at Punta Gabriela!

Amazing Stay at Punta Gabriela
We had a one of a kind experience. We stayed in Villa 1 and it was magical!! The pool is wonderful, and the beach views are stunning. Jesse and Karen are very friendly and helpful with great amenities and thoughtful touches to make your time there special. Best vacation ever.
Real life Paradise!
Punta Gabriela is real life paradise! From the moment we arrived, I felt like I was in ultimate luxury surrounded by beautiful nature and spectacular views from our villa! The owners of the resort made us feel so at home, felt like I was staying with family! They even took us on fun excursions to see the spectacular waterfalls which truly made our trip so memorable.
Heaven on earth
This is a slice of heaven like no other resort.
It’s absolutely breathtaking, tranquil, lush exotic surroundings, friendly warm host make you feel at home. Wild life, stunning pacific coastal views of the mountains and ocean waves crashing on the shore. You will fall in love with Punta Gabriela.
Best trip and time ever!!!
From the second we landed and boarded the helicopter to the resort – we knew we were going to have the most amazing time! Karen and Jesse were amazing and unbelievable hosts. Our villa was beautifully designed, immaculate, pristine, comfortable, beautiful, and spotless! We were well taken care of and had use of everything we needed. We went on an ATV excursion with Jesse and Karen to a beautiful waterfall, went to a coffee grower in the hills, dined at delicious restaurants, had yummy tacos in Dominican, and the list goes on and on. I highly recommend Punta Gabriela to anyone who wants the perfect get away in a beautiful setting hosted by a great couple who will do anything to make your stay enjoyable and memorable! We can’t wait to go back!!!
Simply amazing
Pleasantly surprised and worth the adventure if you looking to recharge your battery.
Truly amazing – if you want to reconnect with your soul in the middle of a jungle paradise and get back to nature this is the place to go.
Location is absolutely perfect – it’s mere seconds to the beach with nature all around you.
If you’re stressed out I can’t say enough about how this place helps you to reconnect.
Accommodations are five star the food is amazing and the staff very accommodating.
Find yourself again at the Villas at Punta Gabriela. I will be back!!!
Off the Charts
I spent 5 days in this serene ocean/jungle playground. The grounds are pristine and stunningly beautiful. The small local area of Dominical is only minutes away and has many small family style eateries, crafts and to my surprise a great microbrewery and all at extremely reasonable prices. On the days we wanted to just sit by the pool and chill the chef located on the grounds cooked us local Costa Rican entree’s. You cant beat the weather.
I was very surprised by the selection of healthy food choices including gluten free, holistic products and services all available onsite or within minutes.
I live in Florida Keys and I would take the Costa Rica weather anyday. Its warm but not oppressive, the lack of pesky mosquito’s was also a surprise. I came home with no bites. I want to study up on why there are no mosquito’s. Several nights we sat on the veranda smoking cuban cigars and sipping Port.
From the pool we watched monkeys, parrots, iquanas, toucans it was great.
This is NOT a hotel with lots of noise and people action. It is a ZEN experience with a touch of home. I made new friends and was converted to Costa Rica lifestyle.
