This place is the shit, Maxine who runs it is an amazingly cool hybrid human she is 1 part concierge 1 part entertainer/hostess. (Honestly still not doing her justice).
The property itself is breathtaking, the views are breathtaking. It’s just amazing.

We recently attended a retreat in Costa Rica at a remarkable private property called Punta Gabriela, and it was an unforgettable experience—made truly exceptional by our host, Maxine Gomez. From the moment we arrived, the hostess, Maxine’s warmth, thoughtfulness, and extraordinary attention to detail set the tone for an experience that was both restorative and inspiring.
Perched on a lush hillside with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, the estate was a tranquil sanctuary, beautifully integrated into the surrounding rainforest. Every element of the property reflected Maxine’s refined taste and deep care—from the elegant, eco-conscious design to the inviting open spaces that welcomed connection with nature.
Maxine ensured that each of us felt seen and supported. She anticipated needs before they were expressed, creating an atmosphere of comfort and ease that allowed us to fully relax and be present. Whether arranging a peaceful yoga session or coordinating a blissful spa treatment, her efforts were always personal and perfectly timed. Her ability to strike the right balance between structure and freedom gave the retreat a natural, effortless flow.
The culinary experience was another highlight, thanks to the incredibly talented Chef Paige, whose meals were vibrant, nourishing, and customized with care. Maxine worked closely with Paige to ensure that every dietary need was met thoughtfully and deliciously. Each meal was a celebration—colorful, flavorful, and infused with local ingredients and creativity.
Maxine also encouraged us to connect with the local community, which added a beautiful dimension to our stay. When we visited the nearby town, we were met with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Exploring the lively ferias, we delighted in fresh produce, handmade crafts, and the joyful rhythm of Costa Rican life. These moments of cultural connection made the experience feel deeply rooted and authentic.

Staying at this beachfront jungle resort was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely reset—welcomed into an environment where luxury is beautifully simple, deeply personal, and incredibly refreshing.
I stayed in Villa 1, which featured a private pool and jacuzzi—perfect for soaking in the peaceful jungle surroundings. The sunset views were absolutely unbelievable, painting the sky with colors I’ll never forget.
The resort strikes the perfect balance between intimacy and warmth. It felt exclusive and serene, yet had a grounded, family-like vibe that made it easy to relax and feel at home. Being so close to waterfalls and immersed in nature only added to the enchantment.

Best vacation ever!
My family has been all over the world and Punta Gabriella ranks at the top of the list! We loved the accomidations and had so many great adventures in the Dominical and Manuel Antonio areas. Karen and Jesse treated us like royalty and their staff is amazing. We can wait to get back and spend more time there.

Look no further
Jesse and his team at Punta Gabriela are wonderful. The resort itself is kept extremely clean, it has amazing views of the coastline and surrounding jungle, and many toys to use and take around town which is helpful. My family and I stayed the entire week and rented out all villas. Jesse was extremely helpful in setting up massages, excursions, reservations, and anything else we needed! We will definitely be back.
Amazing Punta Gabriela Costa Rica
Punta Gabriela is an amazing place to visit. They go above and beyond your expectations. The service, food, the whole place is outstanding. The views are beautiful. The villas and whole place is breath taking. The sound of the ocean relaxing. You leave with a great time , great memories and make great friends they are so friendly, fun , and very accommodating. You will def want to return. Thank you for such a great vacation for our 30th year anniversary with our family and friends we will always remember and all the beautiful pictures and videos we captured at Punta Gabriela 🥰 .

Came here for my wife’s birthday and would have to say it was one of our best vacations ever. The staff made our stay truly memorable and treated us like family . The views, food, and hospitality can not be beat. Would recommend Punta Gabriela to anyone looking to capture the experience of a special get away.
Best trip ever!!
We had the best week at Punta Gabriela! The resort was stunning, the team was amazing, the food was on point, and I can’t wait to go back. There was so much to do in the area and the PG staff took care of making all arrangements. We had nearly all meals prepared by the incredible chef. Jesse and Karen are so welcoming and made our stay phenomenal. Can’t wait to go back!
Truly paradise
What a magical place! We traveled with 3 couples and had the place to ourselves for one unforgettable week. As soon as we arrived, we felt like family. Activities were arranged for us upon arrival, to include zip lining, fishing, waterfall tour and yacht rental. We even had an on property massage! The chef cooked breakfast and dinner for us daily and every meal was incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, spectacular views, gorgeous sunsets and just enjoying the peace of paradise. The villas were very spacious and comfortable. A magnificent view anywhere on the property. Jesse, Karen, German, Karina and team were outstanding hosts. I cannot recommend Punta Gabriela enough.
Amazing, family friendly luxury
Me and my husband came here 7 years ago, it was incredible then and we finally came back, this time with two kids and it was just as amazing! The experience is like a top-of-the-line bed and breakfast, with delicious, homemade meals made by their private chef German every morning and evening. We enjoyed interacting with the owners and staff helped us book activities to see the waterfalls. My husband and I were able to easily book a babysitter that was highly recommended and get out one day without the kids. We rented one of their 4×4 vehicles and explored the area on our own which was so much fun! Overall a wonderful experience, highly recommended.
Heaven on earth
We stayed at Punta Gabriela for one week with our family for spring break. The grounds were beautiful and well kept and the pools were crystal clear. The views could not be beat. The staff was friendly and attentive and their on staff chef, German prepared incredible meals throughout our stay. You can tell Jesse and Karen take pride in Punta Gabriela and were amazing hosts. They were very helpful with fun activities for the whole family and really made us feel at home. Can’t wait to plan our next trip back soon!
Amazing week at Punta Gabriela
Our week long visit to Punta Gabriela exceeded all expectations! Karen, Jesse and their crew made us feel like family. Everything was exceptional starting with villas and the views from the property, the delicious meals, the beach just down hill, to the tours they set up for us. If you are looking for a place to have a getaway in style, this is the place. We can’t wait for our next trip to visit with the folks at Punta Gabriela.
Amazing for families
Just spent a week at Punta Gabriela with my family, including a 4 year old and a 2 year old. We had an amazing time! Jesse and Karen and their team were incredibly helpful. They helped us book fun things to do and the kids didn’t want to leave! The chef prepared delicious meals, and all of the staff were incredible. 10/10 would stay again, and when we come back to Costa Rica, we will stay here again.
Crushes expectations!
Punta Gabriela is a gem! From the moment I arrived after the Envision festival wanting to relax and absorb the beauty of Costa Rica, Jesse, Karen and their team went above and beyond to enhance the experience. From the stunning location, to the way any vacation experience was an ask away, everything was top-notch. So much, that when there was a mixup at the local airport connecting me to SJO, Jesse had the helicopter pick me up with no up charge! Five stars is an understatement.
